Ellen Skerratt, artist behind Tsunga CreativeHello, I’m EllenTHE ARTIST BEHIND THE BRUSH

Art that feels
like someone.

I’m the artist behind Tsunga Creative. I create original portraits and bespoke artworks that celebrate character, individuality and the connections that matter to us.

Identity runs through my work—from the expression of a much-loved pet to more experimental explorations of people and emotion. Through colour, texture and expressive marks, I aim to capture both a likeness and a sense of personality.

Every commission begins with your ideas and the story behind them. Together, we shape these into a personal artwork to treasure or give to someone special.

The story behind Tsunga

Tsunga Creative takes its name from Sangha, a tiger cub in Two Brothers, a film that holds a special place in my heart. Pronounced “soon-gah”, the adapted spelling preserves that personal connection while giving the name an identity of its own and respecting the Buddhist meaning of the original word.

The tiger represents strength, courage and intuition. Hidden within the stripes on its forehead is the Virgo symbol, bringing a sense of grounding, care and thoughtful attention to detail.

Together, these elements reflect what guides my work: individuality, emotional connection and the belief that every subject has a story worth capturing.
